I've had Sattelite TV for about 15 years, until recently it's always been Direct TV. The home we are currently renting in Chicago is the alternate brand of service, Dish Network.
While Direct TV is intuitive, Dish Network is cumbersome.
DTV takes one or two steps to complete a directive, DN takes four or five.
DTV allows one two reach out and record a series a month or more in advance. DN allows a user only one week advance programing.
DN auto-records program snippets of programs it decides it wants a user to see. DTV does not.
If one chooses to purchase a pay-for-view program on DTV, you have it/own it and can watch it repeatedly, on DN you pay another $4.99 for each showing!!
I've been using satellite TV service for fifteen years and Im still have trouble figuring out how to navigate the Dish Network system.
My advice to readers who are considering satellite TV service is to opt for Direct TV and to steer clear of the Dish Network.
