Pros: Electric cars
Cons: Are they really environment friendly?

Now Mercedes has joined the competition of electric cars and made their first Electric SLS AMG, world’s most powerful 740 Horsepower electric car so far!
Mercedes SLS AMG Electric drive is capable of going up to 150 miles of driving range before recharge. Mercedes has made the battery recharging process quicker, the car batteries can be recharged in about 3 hours using Mercedes special recharging unit. The top speed of the car is 155 mph. The car can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. The price range is about $537,000. Imagine how much gas you can buy for $500,000 if you have a regular car worth of $37,000. But I guess this car is not just to save money on gas!
Imagine most of us driving electric cars, of course not expensive as this Mercedes and plug them in to our electric outlets for battery recharge. Isn’t it going to burden our electric power generating stations and make them work harder, create more emission and use more energy to meet the ongoing electric demand? What is going to happen with the old batteries when at some point they become un-rechargeable? Are they going to be used as land fill, or in building houses?
Any thoughts that you will like to share?

I think electric cars are the best option for gas and are really environment friendly provided if the battery manufactures can make a use of old, used batteries instead of using them for land fill.

I think RR is right, the day everyone will start using electric cars, the utility service providers are going to raise their prices too and the consumers will not be saving anything.

In all seriously, yes they are enviromentally friendly, they don't create pollution and electricity is limitless, they should just make solar powered saving cars, those sounds more friendly!

I think the way supply and demand work, the chances are, that the electricity rates will go sky high when most people start using electric cars. So the consumers will have to pay higher prices for transportation anyways.
